Alpine luxury meets romance: The Deluxe Private Suite HOLZ
The Deluxe Private Suite HOLZ was built around 500 years ago as a detached house and was combined and built over in 1740 by Empress Maria Theresa’s forest ranger Praunsperger, together with a house that served as a hermitage for the Capuchin monks, to form the baroque monumental building Praunspergerisches Haus. It was intended to convey a representative, cultural and political statement. ‘I am your Empress and I am here‘.
Today, you can experience the Deluxe Private Suite Holz with its 500-year-old original tram ceiling (special wooden ceiling) and equally old, authentic wooden floor: you walk on the same wood that people have been walking on for 500 years! Connect with the history of this magical place.
Gaze out from the handcrafted four-poster bed at the lake or into the crackling fire in the wood-burning stove. Experience authentic Austrian cosiness. Enjoy the inviting bench with its generous table and the view of the roofs of Hallstatt, across the lake and to the mountains on the other shore.

Imagine sinking into a four-poster bed, nestled in hand-selected down. Before you, the fireplace crackles softly — or perhaps your gaze drifts across the lake instead. A luxury that asks nothing of you but to enjoy the moment.
Maybe you’ve prepared a few delicacies in the fully equipped kitchen and now savor them at the original wooden table, with sweeping views over the lake and up to the mountains beyond. Or you curl up in a comfortable armchair, losing yourself in the pages of a good book.
Or perhaps your day begins quietly: with an early coffee enjoyed in the crisp freshness of alpine morning air, as calm and beauty gently embrace this enchanting place.
The clear floor plan of a detached house gives today’s Deluxe Private Suite HOLZ its soothing clarity. The wood enriches the room with an alpine atmosphere.
The very generous wooden table with a surrounding bench radiates cosiness. A handcrafted four-poster bed dominates the room. From here, your gaze wanders across three windows to the lake or to the fireplace, where a lively crackling fire spreads warmth.
Every historical detail has been translated into something you can use today. The former room entrance with a baroque door is now a cupboard with a safe. And the old kitchen is now your modern bathroom with a walk-in shower. You enter your Deluxe Private Suite Holz through the garden via a private entrance. This means that your four-legged family member can accompany you.
